Article highlighting What the SLCP Can Do For Your Library included in the January-February 2024 edition of the LILRC Newsletter.   

         A recent article written by President and co-founder of the Sustainable Libraries Initiative, Rebekkah Smith Aldrich has been included in LILRC's Jan/Feb 2024 newsletter.

The article titled What the SLCP Can Do For Your Library discusses and provides proven examples of how much libraries can benefit when they invest their time and efforts into enrolling in the Sustainable Library Certification Program. The impact that one library can make on its community, staff, the library's organizational structure, and taking on a leadership role  in their communities with regards to mitigation and adaptation in response to the results of climate change. 

The goal of the work done by SLCP member libraries are meant to influence the mindset of library leaders at all levels of the organization to ensure that as we make decisions, large and small, we do so through this framework of considering not only the cost, but also the  environmental and social impact.
